It's been a long, long time.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1

Praise the Lord. It's good to be alive. Sorry I haven't blogged for a while but we have had Internet problems and been a little busy. Pastor preached at John's church on Sunday, I didn't get any pictures but the preaching was good (as usual). The church wasn't really used to preaching because John does more teaching than anything. Here are a few photos that I've recently taken. The first 2 are from this morning when we took Brandon to school. The rainbow's end was so close, it was beautiful. We went to the school where we are going to be having church and met the principal today. He was very nice and a christian. We have been gathering all the necessary supplies for the new church (banners, bulletins, envelopes, etc). God decided that we aren't doing the billboards yet. So we will continue to wait on Him. Church there looks like it's going well. If you all keep up on the new signs and the matching handouts, God will see the vision come to pass. I believe we can double this year, God wants bigger though. So keep pressing toward the mark, don't get tired. The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. We love you all and are excited for all God is doing there and here.

God Bless,
Sis W.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

I Corinthians 13: 4-8 & 13

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command

John 15:12-14

Those are such beautiful scriptures. Paul tells us what love is by the Holy Ghost and Jesus tells us this is what we should do for each other because he has done it for us. The bible tells us that God showed his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Love is a choice, but we are commanded to do it.

There hasn't really been a lot going on in the last few days. We did go over to the Hood River news and talked with them about some ads and they are going to take our photo on Wed for an article they are going to do in the paper. We will bring a couple with us when we come. Has anyone remembered to pray about the billboards? We are still in prayer about it, but I feel like it would be beneficial to the church, so unless we get a "NO" from the Lord we will probably do it.

This is funny, we went to lunch today at the China Gorge Restaurant with pastor's sister and her husband and at the end of the meal they brought the fortune cookies out. Pastor's brother in law, Shane, doesn't really think he needs church but his fortune cookie said, "A long lost relative will soon be beneficial in your life." So he looks at pastor and says, "hey gimme 5 bucks" and pastor goes "Yeah, I don't think that's what it means" then Shane kinda got this weird, scared smile. It was sooooooo funny. Guess you had to be there. I told pastor he should have kept the fortune and gave it to Shane after we baptize him in Jesus name!

Well, we will be watching in the morning and praying for the church. We love and appreciate all of you.

As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 47:4

The Lord is great and greatly to be praised! It was a nice day today. We unpacked some more, pastor worked on The Summit website and we enjoyed the snow. Sorry I haven't posted in a few days but we got home late on Sunday and Monday I was exhausted. Brandon is starting school tomorrow. He's not going to the school we thought he was going to though. Turns out that after we got him enrolled and he was ready to go they looked at the address and realized he's in the Pinegrove boundaries and not Mid Valley. Pinegrove school is k-5 and has only 1 class per grade with only 14 kids in 5th grade. There are only 130 kids in the entire school and it was built in the late 1800's. But I think it will be a good transition for him. At first I was totally against it but after thinking about it, it made sense and the Lord knows. Well enjoy the new photos, I'm going to bed. God Bless.

Bro John Harvey-Pastor at Bible Fellowship in Hood River. This is where we went on Sunday. We have known John and his wife Rachael for about 12 years. They went to Truth Tabernacle when we did and left about 4 years ago, I think. They are great people.

Chickens - That was random!

Alpaca - I know, this is random too. but we were out driving around and we saw the chickens on one side of the road and the alpaca on the other side and I thought they were cute.

This is the end of the Hood River just before it goes into the Columbia.

This is right down the street from our house. Just thought it was a nice photo.

This photo was taken at about 3:45 today.

Pastor and Brandon's first snow man. If you click on the picture you can get a close up on the snowman who sort of looks like pastor. It's not the first time he's made a snowman that looks like him. LOL

Going down our drive way at about 5:00pm today.

Pastor and his funny hat on the way to town to pic up our Internet modem.

This is how the house looked when we arrived back home at about 6:30.

Here are some videos I did today. The one going across the bridge was from Saturday when we went to pastor's mom's house.

Saturday Feb. 7, 2009

Well it's Saturday night and I have a few more photos for your viewing pleasure. Today we really didn't do much of anything, just a rest day you could say. We had lunch with pastors family, went to walgreens, came home and ate sloppy joes (yum!) Tomorrow we are going to visit a church that is being overseen by a friend of ours named John Harvey. I will take pics and let you all know how it goes. You can make comments on these posts if you want. I'd love to hear from all of you. Missing home a bit now and all of your faces, but we'll see you in a few weeks. God Bless until tomorrow. We will be praying for the service and all of you.

In His Service,
Sis W

PS You'll notice I'm not in alot of the pics because I'm always the one behind the camera.

That's probably a good thing.

Mid Valley Elementary is a small school which is good for a kid who has been home schooled for 3 years. James, Tasha and Taylor all went to school here too.

This Group of photos are of Westside Elementary, where we are going to be having services.

This area is between the gym and the cafateria, we will use it for a nursery area.

This is the gym where we will have adult service

This is the entrance we will be using with the restrooms to the right of the doors.

This is the entrance also, but coming in the doors, the gym is to the right and the nursery area is to the left, then beyond that is the cafateria where we will have children's church.

Front of the entrance where we will be coming in, not the main entrance of the school though.
End of school pics.

This is Hwy 35 coming from our house, this little area is Pinegrove.
If you keep driving you go to Hood River.

This is part of pastor's family. From left to right.
Pastor's mom Sydney, his younger sister Christina, older sister Millie and Millie's daughter Crystal, who has a twin named Christian but she went snowboarding. pastor's step dad Jerry.

You have to go across the Hood River bridge to get back to Hood River.

Got to hurry!

Hi everyone, sorry I didn't post last night but we are catching a wireless connection right now and it fades in and out. I will post more pics tonight if the connection is strong enough. We are going to have lunch with Pastors family today (pray for us - lol) Haven't seen his sister, Iona, for about 15 years so it should be interesting. Also, we would like you to pray about the billboards. We can get a really great price, but that won't matter much if it's not what God wants us to do. Cover everything in prayer. Have a great day - We love you QC.

Thursday Night Post

Well it's Thursday night and we are done unloading the U Haul truck - Thank you Jesus, because I don't think I could have done it another day. LOL. It was a great day, very cold and overcast. It did rain a little this evening but nothing substantial. It's suppose to snow a little tomorrow. We took Brandon to sign him up for baseball this evening and tomorrow we are going to the DMV. Pastor has an appointment tomorrow to talk to someone about a bill board that's here in town. I will be adding new posts at night from now on.

The service was good last night - very relevant teaching.

Isaiah 52:6-8 (New Living Translation)
6 But I will reveal my name to my people, and they will come to know its power. Then at last they will recognize that I am the one who speaks to them.” 7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! 8 The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the Lord returning to Jerusalem.

We love and appreciate you all - Good night, may the Lord bless you with sweet sleep.
Sis W
